 Credit and Risk Analyst

 

Mission

Ensure the process of credit allocation to all clients in the commercial portfolio in all geographies where the Commercial Unit operates, in accordance with Galp's credit risk management standards. Ascertain exposure to credit risk, and propose, define and implement mitigation measures, anticipating the evolution of macroeconomic scenarios and occurrence of risk events in business segments and clients.

 

What you will do:

  • Ensure and execute the processes for assigning and reviewing credit limits to the BU's clients in order to guarantee an integrated vision of Galp's exposure to each client, in accordance with the Credit Risk Manual and the delegated powers in force;
  • Propose, implement and report on risk control mechanisms to ensure monitoring of the value of debt and the level of credit risk exposure of the BU's client portfolio, supported by the massive processing and systematisation of internal (Galp systems) and external (information agencies and credit insurers) data;
  • Propose credit risk mitigation measures, anticipating market trends and changes in the financial structure of clients;
  • Promote the adequacy of credit limits to customer needs and support the commercial teams in all aspects of credit management;
  • Ensure the quality of the credit information residing in Galp's systems, in cooperation with the Back Office teams, and promote the adequacy and optimization of the processes that lead to its availability;
  • Ensure iteration with the Credit Insurers, promoting and challenging the maximization of coverage and ensuring the documentary support contractually required;
  • Support the negotiation and approval process of payment plans and manage the system of alerts regarding their compliance, promoting a transversal and aggregated vision of the payment plans within the Commercial Unit;
  • Understanding of business needs, in the context of Credit, and their translation into an analytical context;
  • Create and make available alert systems and reports for monitoring Credit indicators;
  • Collaborate with corporate areas, namely Accounting, Treasury, Risk and Corporate Insurance on credit risk management policy matters.

 

What you will need:

  • Academic background with strong mathematical component (Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, Management, Economics);
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, namely Excel, VBA, Dynamics (preferable) and Power BI;
  • Knowledge of ETRM systems (preferable);
  • Good analytical capacity and critical sense;
  • Good analytical skills and critical sense; Rigor in information processing;
  • Good interpersonal relationship and team spirit;
  • Interest in learning, researching and creating robust solutions, from a technological point of view and with high impact on business;
  • Valuing relevant experience in the energy or retail area.
