Laboratory Analyst

With a customer-centric approach, you will be part of the Commercial business unit, which offers a complete and integrated portfolio, including petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity. Additionally, it provides convenience products and services, as well as multi-energy solutions such as charging points for electric vehicles and decentralized solar energy solutions.

About your future team

The Lubricants Laboratory is part of the Lubricants area, alongside the Lubricants Factory and Logistics Teams and the Product Management team.

The Laboratory has three main areas of activity:

• Support for Product Development activities;

• Quality Control of received products (raw materials) and products manufactured at the Lubricants Factory;

• Maintenance and Improvement of the Accredited System.

The Laboratory team consists of five people, while the entire Lubricants area has 25 members, all of whom demonstrate high performance and significantly contribute to the quality of Galp lubricants. This is evidenced by the various Certificates of Merit they receive annually.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of a broad and challenging range of products that are continuously evolving. Galp markets around 450 different lubricants, allowing you to expand your knowledge, contribute to product development, learn new testing methods, and ensure the quality of this high-value product range. As a market leader in Portugal and an exporter to multiple countries, the daily work involves continuous interaction with the Development and Production teams.

The Laboratory is located at the Matosinhos site, next to the Lubricants Factory.

How will your day-to-day look like

• Perform tests and daily operations, ensuring continuous improvement, compliance with procedures and regulations, and improved service levels;
• Conduct tests for Interlaboratory Testing Programs, ensuring the maintenance and demonstration of competence;
• Carry out activities related to quality control and the creation of lubricant product prototypes, characterizing them;
• Support and respond to audits of the Accredited Laboratory System under the ISO/IEC 17025 standard;
• Prepare work documents such as operational procedures or assist in regulatory updates;
• Ensure the quality and validity of produced results and equipment control;
• Monitor and track equipment performance;
• Assist in the implementation of new techniques or technologies;
• Identify opportunities and improvement actions (in operational efficiency, safety, environment, and quality) or help ensure their implementation.
