You will join the Upstream business unit that develops a competitive and unique portfolio in the sector, with a carbon intensity well below the industry average. Galp’s upstream portfolio  comprises projects at different stages of maturity, from exploration to production. Galp is present in Namibia since 2012, being and active player and Operator in Orange Basin.


About your future Team

Based in Windhoek and reporting directly to the Namibia Country Manager, this role serves as a strategic link between public affairs and petroleum operations. You’ll support the Country Manager in Galp Namibia’s engagement with government, regulators, JV partners, and other key stakeholders while also providing operational support to ensure alignment between on-the-ground activities and key stakeholder expectations. This is a cross-functional position, embedded in both the regulatory environment and operational execution, with visibility across Lisbon-based asset teams and field operations.

 

How will your day-to-day look like

  • Represent Galp Namibia in engagements with government, regulators, JV partners, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with national energy goals and regulatory expectations.
  • Monitor public policy, regulatory trends, and legislative developments translating them into actionable guidance for technical teams.
  • Follow closely in-country operations, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Primary liaison between local technical teams and Lisbon-based asset management, ensuring strategic and operational alignment.
  • Support the implementation of local content and social investment initiatives, with a focus on sustainable technical solutions.
  • Ensure smooth office operations and compliance by interfacing with corporate functions (Finance, Tax, HR, Procurement).

 

What Makes you Unique

  • Namibian national with 5+ years of experience in the energy sector, ideally in upstream operations or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of Namibia’s oil & gas landscape, including policy, permitting, and community dynamics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills; able to navigate multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in both field and office settings.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Portuguese is an asset.
