It also maps, evaluates and develops business opportunities in the energy space, such as the battery value chain.
About your future Team
Galp is looking for a dedicated and team-oriented Control Center Engineer for the 24/7 supervision and coordination of operations in real time.
As part of our dynamic Control Center, you will join the Operational Data & Analytics team within the Renewables Business Unit, a key area responsible for ensuring the efficient and optimal operation of Galp's renewable energy assets across diverse geographical locations in Portugal and Spain.
Your role will require daily interaction and close cooperation with various internal and external teams, including:
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M): Ensuring real-time coordination to maximize asset availability and performance,
- Asset Management: Supporting strategic decisions based on operational data and forecasts.
- Energy Management: Aligning dispatch strategies with market demands and energy trading opportunities.
- Transmission System Operators (TSOs) REN and REE: Liaising for grid compliance.

How will your day-to-day look like
- Working 100% physically from our offices in Lisbon on 24/7 shifts to supervise and control in real-time the operation and performance of Galp’s renewable assets, real-time performance analysis, act on stoppages, curtailments and TSO/DSO orders, coordination of works and operations, issue work order and guaranteeing optimum security conditions with the collaboration of plant management and/or the power plant on-site personnel, in accordance with the department's guidelines and occupational hazard prevention and environmental / regulatory standards, in order to guarantee the maximum availability and efficiency of the installations and maximum use of renewable energy resources.
- Guarantee the continuous exchange of information with system operators (TSO/DSO), OEM remote control centers, production forecast providers and market operators to coordinate and/or guide operations, procedures, and control processes
- Collaborate with plant management teams in the identification and communication of incidents and faults, electrical restrictions imposed by the transmission system operators and provide energy production forecasts.
- Perform SCADA system connection/control tests with the power plants and substation automated systems, communication systems and all relevant software for the operation of power plants, to guarantee that the assets are correctly operated.
- Ensure the availability of all required information and represent the CC when dealing with external entities to protect Galp’s interests, consolidate its image and develop positive working relationships with institutions, while guaranteeing the acquisition and retention of specific knowledge and expertise
- Work closely with Galp's Energy Management team to implement or ensure the application of curtailments sent to the sites as part of market services provided by Galp to TSOs.
What makes you unique
- Graduation in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energies
- Valued knowledge of photovoltaic and wind turbines and technology namely mechanical/electrical operation and maintenance, alarms, SCADA, and additional OT equipment
- Valued knowledge of electrical distribution and transportation systems, particularly in markets where ROCC operates
- Valued knowledge of operation of control systems and HV equipment in substations
- Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish, both verbally and written
