You will joint the Renewables, New Businesses & Innovation business unit that develops a diversified and sustainable portfolio of renewable energy - solar, wind and storage - with a focus on the Iberian Peninsula. It also maps, evaluates and develops innovation technologies and new business opportunities in the energy space, such as hybridization, data center and flexible loads and new technologies for storage.

About your Future Team

You will join Galp’s Innovation Center for Renewables, part of the company’s Innovation Department.
This team is responsible for identifying new opportunities across the Renewables businesses, with a focus on emerging technologies that can optimize or expand existing activities or enable the development of new ones. To achieve this, the team continuously monitors market dynamics and future trends, scouting startups and companies that can address identified challenges and contribute to Galp’s strategic objectives.
Project management is a core part of the team’s work, involving regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you should have a solid understanding of energy markets—particularly renewable generation—an analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster collaboration across Galp’s internal teams.
During this internship, you will gain a deep understanding of the innovation ecosystem and the renewable energy sector, including solar, storage, and wind technologies. You will also develop a strong scouting capability and learn to critically evaluate emerging technologies with the potential to be tested and integrated into Galp’s innovation portfolio.

How will your day-to-day look like

• Learn to monitor major market and technology trends within the Center’s areas of activity.
• Learn to scout startups and companies developing solutions that address the Center’s roadmap priorities/2026 priorities.
• Screen and evaluate opportunities, assessing their technical potential and economic feasibility.
• Support and later manage pilot projects under implementation within the Center.
• Develop and apply analytical tools to support project evaluation and decision-making.
• Participate in relevant industry forums (conferences, trade fairs, etc.) related to the Center’s thematic areas.

What makes you unique

• Background in Engineering, Energy, or related fields, with interest in innovation and renewable technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess technical and economic aspects of new technologies.
• Curiosity and critical thinking, with a proactive attitude towards identifying opportunities and proposing innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and supporting projects under tight deadlines.
