European Regulation Strategy Specialist
Mission
Galp is transforming its business by reshaping its portfolio and become a dynamic, digitally enabled customer-oriented company, with a material position in renewables and new energies, and industrial operations being progressively decarbonized and transformed towards a green energy hub. The External Relations team is at the forefront of this transformation by pushing for the right legislative and regulatory frameworks for the new businesses to succeed. As a part of our team, you will play an important role on providing management teams with inputs from the European legislative agenda that will be key for decision-making.
What you'll do
- Monitor european policy and regulation initiatives, which are likely to have an impact on the activities of Galp;
- Inform relevant teams internally in a timely manner and work with them to better assess the impact of policy initiatives, in order to shape legislative developments and to provide Galp’s management relevant information for decision making;
- Draft and review, together with the relevant experts in Galp´s Business Units, position papers prepared by Galp and its trade associations;
- Work closely with the trade associations Galp is a member of to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, define positions and strategies and reach out to key stakeholders in order to be a key driver on regulatory issues impacting our business;
- Support the preparation of institutional meetings, by carrying out the necessary research on topics and participants and by preparing briefings for Galp’s participants;
- Coordinate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration on business priorities and messaging across different stakeholders;
- Demonstrate clear leadership in Ethics & Compliance.
What you'll need
- No less than 5 years of experience dealing with policy and regulation;
- Portuguese and English (excellent written and oral) / Spanish (could be a plus);
- Excellent writing, listening and presentation skills;
- Strong interpersonal capacities;
- Thorough analysis and capacity to make connections across subjects;
- Good organizational skills, initiative, and autonomy;
- To be a Team Player with strong Problem solving and Project management skills whilst able to work and deliver under tight deadlines;
- Business Acumen.
