Business Analyst
Mission
As an active partner in changing the energy paradigm, Galp is constantly improving its portfolio management while committed to reduce the carbon footprint through its value chain emissions. You will be a crucial player elaborating and manipulating models to assess the impact corporate decisions (commercial and operational) have on the company’s portfolio value and its associated risk as well as the impact of external market variables. You’ll be working in the complete energy value chains, including electricity, natural gas and LNG, crude oil, oil products and biofuels.
What you'll do
- Develop Galp’s first layer of Portfolio Energy optimization through economic modeling;
- Propose the optimal energy portfolio positioning at different timeframes, actively seeking opportunities to add value for Galp;
- Consolidate Galp’s position in every commodity delivering the economic strategic support to time-to-market decision;
- Develop resilient strategies to answer unpredicted scenarios and energy challenges.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of related experience;
- Experience with linear and dynamic modeling and programming tools;
- Knowledge of Global Oil and Biofuels Markets is a plus;
- Knowledge of portfolio optimization models is a plus;
- Degree in an Engineering field (advanced degree is a plus);
- High level of strategical thinking – status-quo challenger;
- Independent thinker with the ability to identify problems and contribute to the development of alternative solutions;
- Talent to handle different projects simultaneously;
- Talent for time management and attention to detail;
- Open mind and strong work ethic;
- Flexibility and ability to perform with a substantial degree of autonomy;
- Fluent English, both verbally and written.
